MPORTANT: DAY LIGHT SAVINGS TIME!
Teams, Check-in begins at 6:45am and judging for some teams starts at 7:30am on the first day of Daylight Savings time! Please make sure to emphasize this to your teams!!!!
Food
There will be two food trucks available for lunch purchases at the event:
"Tacos by Manny" - Traditional Mexican Food
"Two for the Road" - Lobster rolls, Burgers, Hotdogs, etc. https://twofortheroadsd.com/
(teams are allowed to bring their own food, but we also encourage you to patronize the food trucks - but order early!)
Parking
ONLY 2 vehicles will be allowed per team to drive the robot and gear for drop off. This path is represented by the blue arrows on the map (see below). A checklist of team numbers will be used by parking personnel to monitor this parking limitation, so please make sure your parents know not to use your robot parking spots!
Parking is limited at this venue, so please carpool when possible.
Pit Areas
An outdoor pit area will be provided to each team in a 10' x 10' area. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN 10' pop-up tent to cover your area. Power will be provided as well as one table.
There is a chance of rain for the day and pits may be moved inside if it is raining. Pop ups will not be allowed inside if this change is required
Teams will be assigned a table with their number on it. DO NOT MOVE your pit - a pit map is being provided to the judges and queuing team. If you move, you may miss a judge or your match!
Safety Glasses
We will not provide safety glasses. Teams are required to provide their own for team members and mentors. Note: judges will be wandering the pits, some of them not identifiable. Please be sure to impress them with your correct usage of safety glasses!

Check-in & Inspection Process
- Check-in starts promptly at 6:45. Please be on time and plan your time for the parking issues mentioned on this page – this is critical to everyone having a good day.
- One mentor will check in the team at the check-in table and turn in the team’s Engineering Portfolio. To be considered for the control award, your Control Award Content sheet must be submitted at this time.
- Two team members will take the robot directly to either field (at the fields) or hardware inspection (at tables near the entrance). The remaining team members may go to the pits to set up. Please see the judging/inspection schedule to know whether to go to hardware or software inspection first. Teams in 7:30 judging are allowed to go straight to their pits but should go to inspections immediately after their judging time is finished. All other teams should note you can NOT take the robot to the pits until it has passed inspection, so come with your robot "test ready."
Robot and Field Inspections (blank forms can be found on firstinspires.org - MUST fill out in advance)
- You are required to bring both the robot and field pre-completed checklists to inspection. Please fill this out before coming to the tournament to ensure inspections go efficiently and so you can avoid having your robot disqualified. We will not have the capacity to print these forms out on site.
- Note: all rules will be fully enforced at this event. Please be sure you have completed a thorough self-inspection before coming to the event even if you passed at previous events.
- Here are the links for this year's inspection forms to print out: Robot / Field
- Please make sure your software is up to date! Wifi may be limited on site to complete any updates that are required during the field inspection! HOT SPOTS are forbidden and teams with teams members or spectators using Hot Spots may be requested to excuse themselves from the competition.
Judging
- Please refresh yourself on the SDFTC link regarding judging: JUDGING 2023
- The judging schedule will be shared at check in on the day of the event - be prepared to go to judging at any time
