2022-2023 End of Meet Fun Rounds!
Purpose and Scope: As a part of the San Diego region's mission "Teams helping teams, mentors helping mentors," the region is bringing back its inter-league play and fun elimination matches after the league matches by combining them in a new format. This format is intended to give all teams exposure to the alliance selection process and a chance to work with or compete against teams outside of their formal league.
IMPORTANT: These elimination "rounds" do not have any bearing on a team's league standings, will only be used during meets 1-3 and are optional!

Here is how these will work:
1) Four alliance Captains will be RANDOMLY chosen from from each league as alliance Captains resulting in 8 Captains
2) The order of selection will determine the ranking for selecting an alliance partner
3) If an alliance Captain is selected during the alliance selection, another Captain will be drawn alternately from each league to ensure Captains are spread evenly across the leagues
4) Alliance Captains can select an alliance partner from EITHER League and teams are not given an option to decline (see the note below)
5) Once the Alliance Captains are selected, the Hosts will randomly distribute the alliances into two divisions that will compete in a single elimination matches to determine a division winner
6) The two division winners will compete head to head in a single elimination to determine a winner and finalist
NOTE: Teams will be offered a chance to compete in this format and are expected to honor their commitment with gracious professionalism to the competition regardless of their alliance status or selection.
