Information on this year's Deans List and process to nominate your students for the 2025-2026 season is outlined below. A nomination and submission guide is attached for your reference.
Important Dates:
Nominations - New this year, the deadline for all teams to nominate students is December 15th, 2025 at 11:59pm Eastern time (8:59 Pacific).
Interviews - New this year, The dean's list Interview only event will be held during an interview window in the month of January. For the San Diego Region, we have selected 1/20 - 1/25 as our Region’s window for Dean's List interview only event. This window may extend past 1/25 depending on the number of nominations and interviewer scheduling. The interview format will remain an all-virtual process.
Once the nominations have closed the interview committee will contact mentors of nominated students to schedule interview times.
Student Eligibility:
Every registered team may submit two (2) students as FIRST Dean’s List Award Semi-finalists.
Students must be a sophomore (grade 10) or junior (grade 11) to be eligible for this award.
Nomination Process:
Student nomination(s) are done electronically from the Team Registration Dashboard through the FIRST Tech Challenge Dean’s List Award System (see detailed instructions in attached Submission Guideline). Mentors must write and submit essays following five prompts. Each essay section is limited to 800 characters with a total 4,000 character limit.
