NOTE: The San Diego Regional will be held rain or shine. Pits will be outside unless conditions are unsafe to do so.
IMPORTANT:
Teams, Check-in begins at 7:15am and judging for some teams starts at 8:00am! Please make sure to emphasize this to your teams!!!! Teams late to their interview will be given a shortened interview or may miss their judging interview all together.
Parking
ONLY 2 vehicles will be allowed per team to drive the robot and gear for drop off. This path is represented by the blue arrows on the map (see below). A checklist of team numbers will be used by parking personnel to monitor this parking limitation, so please make sure your parents know not to use your robot parking spots!
Parking is limited at this venue, so please carpool when possible.
OVERFLOW parking is available at the Bressi Village Center.
Pit Areas
Pits will have power and will be outside. We'll provide a 10' wide space but be prepared to be flexible if weather becomes a factor. Bring your own table, pit chairs, and pop-up for shade and protection. Popups should fit in a 10'x10' max footprint.
Pits will be assigned but accommodation will be made for mentors working with multiple teams. Please email Hunter Pashkow if you need this accomodation: [email protected]
If you have a cart, please ensure it has soft, gym floor friendly wheels otherwise we can't let you use it in the building.
Safety Glasses
We will not provide safety glasses. Teams are required to provide their own for team members and mentors. Note: Judges will be wandering the pits, some of them not identifiable. Please be sure to impress them with your correct usage of safety glasses!

Check-in, Inspection & Judging:
- Check-in starts promptly at 7:15. Please be on time and plan your time for the parking issues mentioned on this page – this is critical to everyone having a good day.
- One mentor will check in the team at the check-in table, receive the judging schedule, and turn in the team’s Engineering Portfolio. Teams should go directly to the pits.
- If your team does not have a first or second Judging session, you are required to take 2 team members and the robot directly to the Inspection queue.
- If your team has a first or second Judging session, please proceed directly to the Judging area. Immediately after Judging, 2 team members and the robot must proceed directly to the inspection queue. Please do not stop by your pit. We must have all teams pass inspection as early as possible.
- Either way, your robot should be Inspection ready prior to arrival.
- As usual, practice fields are only available to robots having passed inspection.
Robot Inspections
- Note: all rules will be fully enforced at this event. Please be sure you have completed a thorough self-inspection before coming to the event even if you passed at previous events.
- Please make sure your software is up to date! Wifi may be limited on site to complete any updates that are required during the field inspection! HOT SPOTS are forbidden and teams with team members or spectators using Hot Spots may be requested to excuse themselves from the competition.
Judging
- Please refresh yourself on the SDFTC link regarding judging: JUDGING 2026
- The judging schedule will be shared at check in on the day of the event - be prepared to go to judging at any time
