2026-2027 Registration

*****DRAFT****

IMPORTANT: All 3 registration steps must be completed to be able to select your tournament schedule by TBD!

Registration Steps

In order for a Team to register for the 2026-2027 Season, they must complete all of the following steps (details are below):

1) Register with FirstInspires.org and complete the registration process, pay the national First Tech Challenge program fee and ensure the required number of mentors have completed the Youth Protection Process as well as the new AB506 requirements (read about this here: https://www.sdftc.org/ab506.html). Your team DASHBOARD must show as complete AND both the Coach 1 and Coash 2 must have completed these requirements.

2) Complete the registration form for the San Diego region (see the link below)

3) Pay the region specific registration fee of $TBD ($TBD for Rookie teams)

See these detailed steps below
1) FirstInspires.org
Teams should create or login to their Firstinspires.org account and complete the registration process for their team. The region will receive this information and ensure this process is completed.  Your team DASHBOARD must show as complete and the report from FIRST must say your team is "Event Ready" and both coaches must have completed the California AB506 YPP requirements.

The fees paid to FirstInspires are not to be confused with the region fee.

A CONTINUING IMPORTANT POINT FOR THIS YEAR:

If your team expects to receive a grant through FIRST this season, please DO NOT REGISTER until you have reviewed this blog [https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/regranting-process-procedures-and-w-9] regarding FIRST's changes to the grant process and the elimination of their regranting process for FTC. This decision was been imposed by FIRST starting for the 2022-2023 season.

If your team has donors that they would like to receive through a different non-profit than FIRST, the region's non-profit RISE can serve as a NPO for your team.  Please email RISE Executive Director at [email protected] if your team would like to enter into a team agreement with RISE. San Diego FTC via RISE is one of the few regions who offer this service to in region teams.
