Teams - Welcome to the 2018 California State Games - Summer FTC Robotics Competition! Thank you for signing up and together we will make this an event to remember!
TEAM BOOTHS & TABLES: Teams will have one 6-8' table provided to them. At this point, in order to keep tear down set up simple, teams are asked to not bring a 10'x10' booth.
FORMAL REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
Your previous registration, expressing your team’s interest in participating, has been accepted. It's now time to formally register with the California State Games.
Please go to this link and register following the prompts with several important points:
1) TIMS rosters are no longer required
2) If you want Padres tickets with the FTC group please see the information below - DO NOT order them through the California Games Link
3) All other event registration is happening, including opening ceremonies, etc., through the California Games registration system
4) We were able to keep the costs down at $100 per team

The California State Games has invited FIRST registered First Tech Challenge teams throughout California, Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada to be their “first” Robotics competition as part of the their annual Summer Games. The games will be held in San Diego, CA on July 14th, 2018 with optional activities the night of the 13th and 14th!
The California State Games (CSG) is a statewide amateur sports festival which promotes and nurtures the health, education and well-being of residents and provides an Olympic-style experience. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Games! Find out more about the games at www.calstategames.org/summer-games
Registration: The fee has been finalized at $100 to defray the costs to hold this event. Formal registration will be held through the California Games website after the teams have been notified. We are limited to 36 teams at this time and we will be asking teams to answer a few questions to get to know more about you.
Please submit this form to express your interest! Registration has been extended until June 1st and will now be on a first come / first service basis.
UPDATED: Teams from all 3 California, AZ/NM and the Nevada FTC regions are eligible to participate.
Volunteers: Each team will be required to provide two volunteers to help at the event. Some options are: robot inspection, referee, queuer, scorekeeper, field reset, team registration, and much more!
Team size and game rules: Maximum team size, rules and game structure will match FIRST FTC's Game Manual 1 & 2 for the 2018-2018 season, similar to a regional or league championship tournament.
Awards will be Cal State Games based with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to be awarded. A consolation match (same best 2 out of 3) will be held between the Semi-finalists to determine the Bronze.
Judging: During this first year, teams will be participating in a tournament competition format only. Judged awards are not anticipated at this time, but special awards and/or limited judged awards may be awarded depending on the final structure of the event.

Opening Ceremonies “optional” on Friday night, July 13. This event will be part of the 2018 Cal State Games and is “free” to teams participating in the parade of athletes. The Opening Ceremonies is an event when all athletes, parents, and coaches gather to share in the spectacle and pageantry of the Games. This is the night when every athlete is treated like an Olympian.
