Hello Fellow Robotics Enthusiasts,
Please Join Us for 2021 Navy Gold Coast – Wednesday Sept 1 and Thursday Sept 2, 2021 This is a reminder and an invitation to a free virtual booth and virtual meeting with industry professionals. As well as having a free virtual exhibit booth, meeting with visitors to your booth you can visit other booths to meet engineers in high tech fields (see below). There are only four spots left so please let me know as soon as possible of your interest. I will register your and send you the information regarding your virtual booth. You still have a month to prepare for the US Navy Gold Coast, an event well worth being a part of. The San Diego Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) is proud to present the 33rd Annual Department of the Navy Gold Coast Small Business Procurement Event, "The DON - Capitalizing on Small Business for Innovation and Agility in a Remote Environment". The event will be held in an interactive, immersive, and entirely virtual platform with built-in features for live presentations, interactive Q&A, matchmaking, exhibit booths, and direct attendee networking with the hours modified to accommodate participants across the country. Due to Covid and the San Diego Convention Center not holding events in September - Navy Gold Coast will be a Virtual Event. We'll have a virtual STEM booth to display team logos, literature and videos of your robots such as during development or at challenges. Other than missing the in-person aspect of a live event there will be many features in this virtual experience that you will find of value, interesting and fun! You will be able to meet with visitors that come to the STEM booth and have discussions about STEM and Robotics. Also you can visit other Gold Coast exhibit booths, which is a great opportunity for your teams to meet engineers in the high tech field and get a first-hand look at what technology is being developed for the military and homeland defense. Team Fast and Curious recently launched an FTC scoring app and wanted to engage the community more. This season teams have not been able to collaborate and compete much during pre-competition, so we wanted to host an unofficial scrimmage on our platform. Attached are the details that the team has come up with.
Our essential workers are in need! If you have a 3D printer, you are capable of making a real impact. Print For The Cure is a web-platform seeking to connect essential workers in need of PPE with those who can produce it at home. Tens of thousands of pieces of PPE have already been requested on https://printforthecure.com, but there are not enough people to help produce this PPE! Helping out is simple--essential workers first request for PPE from a limited catalog and amount, then registered donors on the website (this can be you!) can "claim" requests for PPE, then 3D print and arrange delivery for the PPE. All the PPE on Print For The Cure can be 3D printed (except for the transparent sheets for face shields)! This is a simple and great opportunity for community outreach which can really impact our healthcare workers during this time.
