The San Diego FTC Region, RISE (Robotics Inspiring Science and Engineering), a 501c3 whose mission is to provide the resources for thousands of students to pursue STEAM, invite Rover Ruckus FTC teams from the three California FTC regions, Nevada and AZ/NM to participate in the:
California State Games 2019 Invitational Tournament and Challenges!
What is this?: As part of the California State Games this year, we will be hosting an Invitational Tournament based on the Rover Ruckus game and rules PLUS a series of Challenges for your team to test their skills in specific robot performance areas.

The Challenges will be based purely on an individual team's performance alone on the field BUT each team must use the same robot that they are using in the Invitational Tournament. Participation in the Challenges is optional but any team wishing to compete in the Challenges must participation in the Tournament.

If you are interested in competing with your Rover Ruckus robots one more time, would like to compete in an Olympic style event and maybe even share FTC to potential new team members or introduce your rookie members to FTC competitions, please read the participation requirements below:
Each team must help with Volunteers: Each team will be required to provide two volunteers to help at the event. Some options are: robot inspection, referee, queuer, scorekeeper, field reset, team registration, and much more. Last year we had more than we needed so we will break volunteers into shifts as needed.
Each team must help with Setup and Tear Down: Each team is expected to help with set-up and tear down the day of the event.

Rules
Team size and game rules: Maximum team size, rules and invitational game structure will match FIRST FTC's Game Manual 1 & 2 for the 2019-2020 season, similar to a regional or league championship tournament.
Challenges: Teams will be provided the final rules for the Challenges when registration is complete, but most importantly is a team can only enter one robot. No Judging: Teams will be participating in a tournament competition format only.

Awards for the Invitational Tournament will be Cal State Games based with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to be awarded. A consolation match (same best 2 out of 3) will be held between the Semi-finalists to determine the Bronze in the Invitational Tournament.

REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS CLOSED - details below are kept for historical reasons
Registration: The entry fee will be $200 per team to defray the costs to hold this event. Formal registration will be held through the California Games after teams are notified of their selection to attend. Teams must submit the form below by May 15th to be considered to participate. We are limited to 36 teams at this time. Consequently, we will be asking teams to answer a few questions in order to establish a selection matrix in the case we have more than 36 teams interested.
