SDFTC COVID/Tournament Protocols starting 1-1-2022
For this document, "member" refers to a Team Member, Coach/Mentor or team provided Volunteer
The following changes are in effect starting January 2022 for all League Meets (until changed)
The lead mentor for each team must submit the following for each "member" no less than 3 days before the event date:
In addition to any site host requirements, the lead mentor for each team will need to complete the following at check-in at the event :
All teams should be prepared for the following, as well as any other requirements required of the site hosts:
Teams should make every effort to check-in as a complete team (Please limit early/late arrivals)
Walk Up "members" are highly discouraged and will be delayed entry until all pre-screened personnel and teams are admitted and will be admitted at the discretion of the volunteer staff. Walk in attendees will be required to:
If you are presenting a negative Covid-19 test result
The following changes are in effect starting January 2022 for all League Meets (until changed)
- Events are open to Team Members, Coaches/Mentors and Volunteers only until further notice. Please no spectators
- Victor Ciccarelli, San Diego FTC Operations Chief, will be collecting all COVID documentation and tracking team compliance ahead of the event (see specifics below) from the lead team Mentor/Coach for all of their members, including their required volunteer(s)
- Each attendee will be required to wear a CDC COVID-19 protocol approved MASK at all times, even for outside events
- Events are going to be held outside
The lead mentor for each team must submit the following for each "member" no less than 3 days before the event date:
- An Event Waiver and Release and Contact Tracing Form for each member attending
- A COVID-19 Health and Safety Policy for San Diego FTC Acknowledgement for each event
In addition to any site host requirements, the lead mentor for each team will need to complete the following at check-in at the event :
- Confirm they have completed a health screen of all of their "members" the morning of the event
- Confirm they have copies of completed COVID-19 tests completed preferable with 24hrs, but no later than within 48 hrs, for any "members" who are not fully vaccinated (see below)
- Place provided wrist bands on your "members" that will be required to be worn for the entire event
- Turn in completed Hardware and Software Inspection forms (please do these beforehand and not at the event)
All teams should be prepared for the following, as well as any other requirements required of the site hosts:
- Wear COVID-19 protocol approved masks 100% of the time, even when the event is held outside
- Bring anti-fog for your safety glasses!
- Be prepared to compete OUTSIDE (see the below measures you should be prepared to implement at any time)
- Bring your own table for the pits (this may not be required but be prepared for this requirement!)
- Encourage your team to dress warmly or bring something warm to wear
- Label all of your batteries and chargers - there is a chance there will only be a centralized charging station for batteries and laptops at some of the events

- Contact their Coach/Mentor through their own means to have the Coach/Mentor meet them outside of the event
- To show a negative COVID-19 test taken in the 48-hour window before a competition OR proof of vaccination
- Complete a verbal on-site health screen
- Complete an on-site temperature check
- Complete and sign the Event Waiver and contact tracing form
If you are presenting a negative Covid-19 test result
- An over-the-counter test is acceptable
- Test result must show your name, date/time of test, and a negative result
- Results can be show on a mobile device (IE: picture or email that shows your name, date/time/ and negative result)
- Over the counter rapid tests should ideally be done the morning of the event. All Test results must be within 48hrs before the start of the event
