General Qualifier tournament information

The Qualifying Tournaments are scheduled for: March 28, 2021
This remote event will be our advancing tournament and will include judging, etc. Advancements to the San Diego regional championship will be determined at these tournaments via the Game Manual 1 advancement criteria! Again, Robots are not required to participate in the judging portion.

Teams will be assigned a Judging time slot based on their Tournament assignments on either March 27 or 28th! Teams should plan on making themselves available for the entire day for judging and to be available for "call back" interviews.

2) Teams are assigned partner teams for the Scrimmages and Qualifiers. The leaderships intention for these partnerships is that partners will watch each other's tournament runs to provide encouragement, foster region collaboration and to help each other with scoring questions! We hope you will all take advantage of this intentional inject to continue the San Diego region's openness to each other and to support our mission of “Teams helping Teams, Students helping Students.” Please communicate with your partner teams to establish how you would like to accomplish this.

3) Teams are also highly encouraged to share videos of their tournament runs by posting these on Youtube or Vimeo and sharing the link via email to: [email protected]. Video links will be shared at this bottom of this page and please follow these Privacy practices when submitting these videos:

No names of team members or coaches should be mentioned
No faces of team members should be visible at any time
Your video may be “public” on YouTube if you wish, or “unlisted” (anyone with the link will be able to view, but it will not appear in YouTube search results).

Please also use the following naming convention when publishing these videos:
FTC####-(ScrimmageorQualifier)Competition Run # (for example for team 2434 for their Qualifier 3rd run: "FTC2434-Qualifier- Competition-Run-3"

The Regional Championship Tournament will be held April 25, 2021
The event will be held remote and we will try to make this as a large of an event as possible. Advancement from this tournament would take you to the World Championship. More details on this format will be published later.

COMPLETED Scrimmage Information

All teams must compete in the Mandatory REMOTE "Scrimmage" on March 7, 2021
This remote event will include unofficial awards and prizes for teams! Although the scores published for this event will not be used in any rankings for advancement, the region will be handing out prizes for high scores!

Per the remote format rules, scores can be entered in the 7 days previous to and including the posted tournament (end) date.
Teams must at a minimum bring a "piece" of a robot to log in to and submit a score through the remote scoring system.
