Congratulations to 4216 Rise of Hephaestus for being Captain of the Winning Alliance and finalist for the Promote Award! Congratulations also to 10092 Green.Griffins for winning the PTC Design Award! And finally Congratulations to 8471 The Ducks for being 1st runner-up for the Connect Award!
All three San Diego teams will be advancing to the FIRST World Championship in Houston, TX in April! Official results will be posted at: http://ftcwest.org/2016-17-results/ The Society for Women Engineers offers scholarships for women going into engineering.
The local San Diego chapter has scholarship deadlines this week March 15 for incoming first years. http://www.swesandiego.org/scholarships.html The national organization has a May 1 deadline. https://scholarships.swe.org/applications/login.asp Our very own 4216 Rise of Hephaestus was undefeated in all 9 qualification matches of the Cascade Division! So they are #1 Seed Captain. In Olympic Division, 8471 The Ducks, 10092 Green.Griffins, and 9441 Syndicate also did well.
Rise of Hephaestus chose 724 RedNek Robotics Wun (Sun River, MT) then 4855 Batteries in Black (Portland, OR) as their alliance partners. UPDATED AT 5PM: Now #1 after 7 matches. Competition to resume Sunday morning. Rankings and match scores updated online. After 6 out of 9 matches, 4216 Rise of Hephaestus has won all 6 thus earning 12 QP and is now ranked #1 in the Cascade Division! Keep it going!!

Also, congratulations to Dan Glenn - Volunteer of the Year Award Winner at the FRC Regional (while also being a co-coach for FTC 10092 Green.Griffins)!! For those interested in catching some our local teams' matches, here are the match schedules with our teams' matches highlighted for 10092 Green.Griffins, 9441 Syndicate, 8471 The Ducks, and 4216 Rise of Hephaestus. They've just taken a break for lunch up in Tacoma, but they will re-start at 1:00pm with match 31 on Olympic Division and match 29 on Cascade Division. The grayed out matches have already been played, and progress has been about 8 matches/hour. They'll be competing from 1-6:30pm Sat, and 8:30-11am Sun, and then Alliance Selection will occur with Semi-Finals and Finals from 1-4pm on Sunday.
