Join us for an exciting week of intensive FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robot Construction! This camp is for High School students from any school in the San Diego County area entering 9th through 12th grades in the fall. Students are welcome at all knowledge levels, whether you’re just learning about robotics, or if you already have some experience on an FTC Robotics team and want to learn more.

During this weeklong Robotics Boot Camp, students will build a fully functional robot using FTC-approved parts and programming. Each student will learn all aspects of hardware and software design that goes into building an FTC robot. Students will work in small teams to design, build, and program an FTC robot from the ground up. The FTC robots can be up to 18" in length, and they will be built using the following parts: Extruded Aluminum Frames, REV Expansion Hub Robot Controllers, Cell Phone, and REV motors with encoders.

This Boot Camp program is designed to provide a comprehensive overview so students will have a working knowledge of each aspect of the FTC Robotics program. This will give them a big head start if they’re interested in joining an FTC team or similar robotics program at their school during the school year, because they'll be able to step in and take on any of the roles on a robotics team with confidence.

This cost for this camp is $250 with an additional Materials Fee of $60, for a total of $310 per student. This camp has a maximum of 15 students, so sign up for one of the camp sessions now at www.grauerschool.com/summer to reserve your spot!

FTC Robot Construction Boot Camp Sessions:
  • July 8-12, 9am-12pm Daily
  • July 29-August 2, 9am-12pm Daily

Camp Instructor Bio:
Liam Murphy worked for many years as a computer consultant and owner of Netsapien Computing. He has served as a mentor, lead mentor, judge, inspector, and referee for FRC and FTC teams and events for over 10 years. Liam currently teaches Computer Science and Engineering Design, and is lead mentor for the Shockwave FTC team at The Grauer School.

Maryland Tech Invitational June 28-30, 2019

Congratulations on completing your state's/country's FTC Rover Ruckus season!

Now that the season has ended for the majority of your FTC students, it is a great time to keep them engaged with the program by giving them a chance to compete with teams from all around the world at the Maryland Tech Invitational 2019.  Winning MTI teams will receive cash grants to offset the costs of their 2019-2020 FTC season.

We are excited to offer an enrichment program the Friday before the competition, the TechAction STEM Exposition.  This free program will focus on cutting edge missions at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Space Sector.  Students and their mentors will hear first hand from the scientists and engineers who work on these inspiring projects.

Also in the works - an intern recruitment program for rising college freshmen.  We hope kick this off in 2019 for internships in the summer of 2020.  The MTI has already been directly responsible for students landing coveted tech internships here in Maryland.  We plan to make this process more formal.  We are still working out the details so can't make any formal announcements at this time.

Please share the attached notice about the Maryland Tech Invitational 2019 with your teams.  Applications will be accepted through March 23rd.

Thank you for your support!
