FIRST® FAIRBOTICS San Diego County Fair FIRST OFFSEASON Competition’s June 12-14, 2024, at THE SOUND (See attached).
We are excited to work once again with the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds after a successful offseason competition expo last year. The fair will offer FRC, FTC and FLL OFFSEASON Competitions, June 12-14 at the San Diego County Fair in the Sound. This year instead of a demonstration or Expo, we will run an offseason competition. We will have three FIRST offseason competitions, with a modified FIRST ROBOTICS Competition (FRC) with official FIRST field, FIRST TECH Challenge (FTC), and FIRST Lego League (FLL) competition (game rules will come soon after registration). I strongly recommend every San Diego and California team to participate in this event. The more teams we have the more we can show San Diego what we do and the more fun we can have doing it. This year, the San Diego County Fair has committed to give FREE parking and entrance tickets into the fair, with the cost of registration. Please do not to forget to include a list of team members with registration to assure you receive tickets for all your team members. This competition is open to all teams worldwide. We are asking all teams to register though these links: Location: The Sound, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, CA 92014 (Next to the Del Mar Arena) Registration Deadline: Monday, May 20th, 2024 FRC “PACIFIC SHOWDOWN” OFF-SEASON Date: June 12-14, 2024 https://bit.ly/SDCF-FRC-2024 FTC “COASTAL CHALLENGE” OFF-SEASON Date: June 13, 2024 https://bit.ly/SDCF-FTC-2024 FLL “SURFSIDE ENCOUNTER” OFF-SEASON Date: June 13, 2024 https://bit.ly/SDCF-FLL-2024 Mandatory hybrid meeting on June 1st at 9:00 am PST There is a fee for each event to offset some costs of janitorial and insurance. The application deadline closes Nov 1, 2022.
The Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) places high school students in Department of Navy (DoN) laboratories where they take part in real Naval research for eight weeks during the summer. SEAP gives academically talented sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in STEM the opportunity to learn about Naval research and technology while receiving first-class mentoring by top scientists and engineers. SEAP is a competitive program with around 300 placements in more than 30 laboratories around the country in which many participants go on to careers within the DoN. Interns are selected based upon academic achievement, personal statements, recommendations, and career and research interests. The Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (right here in San Diego) is a participating lab. Find out more at Naval STEM Interns |
