The Festival of Science and Engineering is on Saturday, March 4 from 10am-5pm at Petco Park.  About 25000 kids, parents and educators are expected to attend, and this is a great outreach opportunity for FTC teams.   If you're interested in participating in this outreach event, please sign up at:
    http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f054fa9ac2ca5fd0-ftcbooth.

  • Fri-Sat March 10-11 – Opportunity to demo FTC at the FRC (big FIRST bots) tournament at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.  Contact Dan Glenn if interested.

  • Also, don’t forget the Jump Start program available for newly forming teams until April 14.
Start a FIRST Tech Challenge team today and prepare for the season ahead without the pressure of competition. Practice teambuilding skills, programming, robot design, and much more! Teams registering between January 25 and April 14, 2017, will receive a FREE registration for the 2017-2018 season.
    FIRST Jump Start

  • CORRECTION April 1 – Deadline for registration for Robot Art Competition.  $100,000 in cash prizes.
The 2nd Annual Robot Art Competition features $100,000 in cash prizes. We're a nonprofit, and the contest is free to enter and open to any age. The goal is to challenge students to produce something visually beautiful with robotics. It's ideal for robotic student projects involved in robotic planning and image processing, especially those who have an appreciation for art. Details, team signup, and last year's winners are at http://robotart.org.
There is no cost to educational institutions or to students to enter, and students can use any robotic system to produce the artwork. While most teams are using existing robotic arms, the contest is open to custom hardware. Students can enter up to six paintings in each of the competition categories of "fully automated execution" and "manually (semi or tele-robotic) generated" art, where generally, there is little or no specialized software used to control the robot.
The deadline for artwork submission is April 15th.
