Applications are now open for the Lunar Legacy Robotics Invitational, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. This is your chance to test your robot where NASA tested theirs! When: July 19 and 20, 2019 Exactly 50 years to the day from the 1st Moon Landing Where: Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ For: FIRST Lego League “Into Orbit” teams FIRST Tech Challenge “Rover Ruckus” teams Cost: $250 per team Application: https://nau.edu/cstl/robotics/ Deadline: May 15, 2019 Questions: Contact Patti Strones, FIRST VISTA ([email protected]) In addition to the robotics competition, teams will have the opportunity to participate in professional development sessions and tour historic sites in Flagstaff that supported the Apollo program including Lowell Observatory (where Pluto was discovered) and the “cinders” where NASA tested their Lunar Rover and trained the Apollo Astronauts. The Lunar Legacy Invitational is part of a year-long celebration of Flagstaff’s role in the Apollo missions.
